Collection: Gray Catbird (Dumetella carolinensis)

Mimicking the calls of other birds with a cat-like mew, the Gray Catbird is a secretive singer of woodland edges. Native across most of North America east of the Rockies, breeding from southern Canada through the United States and wintering into Mexico and the Caribbean, prefers dense shrubs and regenerating forests, where it feeds on insects and berries and provides lively soundscapes to backyards and woodlands.
