Collection: Northwest Territories Native Plants

The Northwest Territories’ vast landscapes include boreal forest, alpine tundra, and Arctic plains. Black spruce, white spruce, and tamarack dominate the forests, while the tundra is dotted with dwarf birch, Arctic willow, and mountain avens. Summer brings a brief explosion of color from fireweed, Arctic poppy, and lousewort. Wetlands are rich with sedges, mosses, and cloudberry plants adapted to cool, waterlogged soils.
