Guanajuato Native Plants

Guanajuato’s semi-arid valleys and volcanic highlands are home to mesquite, huizache, and prickly pear cactus. Grassy slopes host wildflowers such as cosmos and Mexican sunflower during the rainy season. Higher elevations support oak and pine forests, with understories of ferns and shade-loving herbs.
