The Common Fiddleneck (Amsinckia intermedia) is a cheerful wildflower native to the western United States, known for its spiraled bloom that resembles the neck of a violin. Its golden-yellow flowers brighten dry hillsides and open meadows in spring, often growing in abundance. Though delicate in appearance, the plant prefers open, grassy areas and disturbed soils, making it a common sight along trails and roadsides. Its bristly leaves and stems help deter grazing animals. Its coiled flower spike slowly unfurls as it blooms, attracting bees and other native pollinators.

Designed for the curious and observant, this 5" x 7" spiralbound notebook pairs art and ecology in one thoughtful format — one side features an illustrated species and design, while the reverse presents a detailed description of that species. Perfect for journaling in the field, sketching, or daily reflection.

Crafted with durability and usability in mind, each notebook includes 75 lined leaves (150 pages) of smooth paper, a thick glossy laminate cover, and rounded corners to resist bending in your pack or pocket. The black coil binding allows the book to lie completely flat, making it an ideal companion for writers, artists, and naturalists alike.
